World growth still strong but inflationary risks significant: Trichet

May 7, 2008 - 7:00:00 AM Global growth is still strong owing to the resilience of emerging markets but inflation risks are significant, European Central Bank chief and G10 spokesman Jean-Claude Trichet said on Monday.

On a global level, "we see ongoing growth at a significant level," said Trichet, who also described inflationary risks as "significant.

Trichet was speaking to reporters after meeting with central bankers at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel.
