93% of Saigon FDI in property

During the first seven months of this year, HCM City has licensed 271 FDI projects worth total US$7.712 billion, a 12 fold increase against 2007 and marking the highest level from the Foreign Investment Law was implemented in the city.

In which, up to US$7.71 billion dong or 93.2% of total FDI was invested in real estate market and consulting service. Big projects being licensed are Berjaya International University covering 1,000 hectares in Hoc Mon district with an estimated cost of US$3.5 billion. TECO software park worth US$1.2 billion, US$1.2 billion office buildings for lease commissioned by TA Associates Vietnam.

So total operational FDI projects of HCM City reached 2,908 worth US$24.909 billion, rising nearly US$10 billion as compared with the same period of last year.
