The consumer price index (CPI) next month is forecasted to increase by 1.8-2% due to the direct impact of fuel price adjustment recently, according to the Market Management Group.

Earlier, many economists showed their worries that CPI could increase rapidly by 3% because of the oil and gas price increase.

Specialists said that many goods will be influenced directly by increasing input expenditure such as coal by nearly 3%, cement up 2.24%, construction steel 0.61%, electricity 0.8%, waterway transportation by 6.5-7%, railway transportation 4-5%, petrol-fuelled means transportation from 12-14% and oil-fuelled means transportation by 5-7%.

This month, CPI increased by only 1.13% against the previous month, marking the lowest level since the start of the year, bringing the total CPI in Jan-July to 19.57%.

Earlier, CPI in June rose by 2.14% and that in May up 3.91%.
