Hanoi's H1 total retail sales surges 19.3pct

Hanoi's total retail sales and service turnover in June surged 1.1 percent month on month and 18.6 percent from last June, in which retail sales increased 1.2 percent, the city's Statistic Office reported.

During the first six months of 2009, total retail sales and service turnover of Hanoi jumped 19.3 percent year-on-year, particularly the retail sales were up 19.5 percent (the figure will be 4.7 percent only excepting price factor). Of which, the contribution of state economy in total retail and service turnover rose by 15.8 percent, private companies up 20 percent and foreign invested companies up 17.6 percent.
