In June, total number of international tourists to Vietnam fell 4.7 percent month on month to over 279,000 arrivals, reported general Department of Tourism.
Thus, the figure of Jan-June reached over 1.89 million tourist arrivals, far lower than the targeted 5 million for the whole year.
During the period, over 228,000 tourists came from China, 225,000 from the US and 203,000 were from Korea.
According to the latest survey of over seven European countries made by Ipsos/Europ Assurance, due to the economic crisis European people are less interested in tourism and have to tighten expenditure. Only two third of surveyed European people (64 percent) said they wanted to go on summer holiday, lower than 67 percent of 2008.
