Vietnam will participate in "The World's Biggest Lesson" event held by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Children Funds (Unicef) in late April.

The event is aimed at breaking the world record of gathering millions of learners from 51 countries to take the same lesson at the same time.

Politicians, officials and journalists will be taught alongside children and parents on Quality Education to End Exdusion in accordance with the same lesson plan made by Global Campaign for Education at 4 GMT (11 a.m. Vietnamese time), 8 GMT (3 p.m. Vietnamese time), and 15 GMT (10 p.m. Vietnamese time)

Vietnam will kick off the event themed "Global Children and Adults to set a world record: the World's Biggest Lesson" at Hanoi's 1 Thang Long High School at 3 p.m. (local time) on April 23, according to the Ministry of Education and Training on Tuesday.

In addition to Hanoi, 63 provinces and cities nationwide will take part in the event.

The World's Biggest Lesson is part of UNESCO's Global Action Week 2008 Quality Education to End Exclusion, for the purpose of raising awareness about increasing access to education, and to implore governments to keep their promise of achieving "Education for All" goals by 2015.

Vietnam will also hold several educational activities during action week.

During the week from April 21-27, UNESCO will also collect statistics on student drop-out rates around the world for future projects.
