US schools eye Vietnamese students

Seven US universities showcased their training and student exchange programmes at a forum in HCM City Wednesday.
"We would love to see more students from Vietnam," John Ettling, president of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, told the meeting held at the HCM City University of Natural Sciences.
The president of the Institute of International Education, Dr Allan Goodman, who led a 17-member delegation to the university, said the number of Vietnamese students studying in the US increased by 30% last year, taking Vietnam into the top 20 list of countries sending students to the US
Vo Van Sang, principal of the HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said around 400 American students are enrolled for courses in Vietnamese studies and history at his school.
