Toll highway operators from the Asia-Pacific region will meet in Kuala Lumpur on April 5 to exchange ideas and discuss new technologies at the inaugural PLUS International Expressway Conference and Exhibition.

Spearheaded by PLUS Expressways Bhd (5052), the three-day conference will be officiated by Works minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor and is expected to attract over 300 delegates.

PLUS managing director Noorisah Abd Hamid said the first conference of its kind in the region will deal with issues such as toll expressway management, business opportunities, financing and regulatory.

"As Southeast Asia's first and largest highway toll concessionaire, we want to play a leading role in providing the platform for toll highway operators to share the latest issues," Noorozah said recently.

Among the speakers are former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysian Highway Authority director-general Datuk Ismail Md Salleh, World Road Association (France) chair of technical committee, Martial Chevreuil and Japan's Central Nippon Expressway Co Ltd director Takeo Nakamura.
