Provinces and cities in Vietnam should take drastic measures to further the fight against corruption, focusing on seven major fields in 2010, according to Vietnam news agency.

The seven target areas namely land use, taxation, mineral resource management, personnel recruitment and appointment, capital construction, addressing complaints and petitions relating to corruption, and handling important cases relating to the problem as well as the equitisation of State-owned enterprises.

Citing Chief of the Office of the Central Steering Committe for Corruption Prevention Vu Tien Chien said the committee will coordinate with relevant agencies to strictly settle major corruption cases of public concerns, helping create positive changes in each area.
