Singapore's minister for the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), Lim Hng Kiang, will be in Vietnam for the 42nd Asean Economic ministers (AEM) meeting.

He will be in Danang from August 23 to 27, in which he will join other Asean Economic ministers from countries such as China, Japan, Korea, India and so on, to discuss the progress of the region's economic initiatives.

The AEM will also look at the work done towards the Asean Economic Community (AEC) by 2015.

Dialogues with the private sector will also be held, including the Asean Business Advisory Council and the US-Asean Business Council, as well as with logistics industry representatives.

Minister Lim will also be attending the opening ceremony of the new bottling line of Vietnam Brewery Limited, which is 60 percent owned by Asia Pacific Breweries.
