Vietnam and China will further boost cooperation in trade and investment in the future, the China Daily reported, citing Chinese minister of Commerce Chen Deming as saying.

The commitment was made during talks between Chen and Vietnamese minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang.

Hoang hoped that China could encourage Chinese enterprises to import more from Vietnam and create favourable conditions for Vietnamese firms to export to the Chinese market. Hoang also encouraged large Chinese enterprises to invest in Vietnam.

China would support Chinese investors and companies to invest and carry out projects in Vietnam, said Chen, adding that China will help Vietnam in training officials.

Bilateral trade may reach $25 billion this year, said the two ministers. Trade value between Vietnam and China was more than $20 billion last year. The two-way trade exceeded $13 billion in the first seven months of this year, according to statistics.
