Bird flu suspected in Indonesia death

A chicken butcher in Indonesia has allegedly died of bird flu on Monday after being hospitalised for two days, The Jakarta Post reported.

Cissy Rachiana Prawira, director of Hasan Sadikin Hospital, said that the deceased had suffered from breathing failure due to the pneumonia had infected his lungs.

"We have sent a blood test this morning but has yet to receive the result of the test," she said.

If the test result is positive to H5N1 virus, the deceased will be the 113th victim of bird flu in the country.
