Vietnam-Chipscale Advanced Packaging Services (V-CAPS) today announced the official presentation of their investment certificate from the Vietnamese government recognising the company as a 100% foreign owned high tech venture. The executed investment certificate allows V-CAPS to move forward with plans to set up a 35,000 square metre semiconductor assembly and test facility at the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (HHTP) approximately 30 kilometres outside of Hanoi in Ha Tay province.

Upon completion, V-CAPS will join Intel in having one of the most advanced high tech manufacturing facilities in Vietnam. In addition V-CAPS will have one of the cost effective and "green" factories in the outsourced semiconductor assembly and test market.
The formal ceremony, where the Investment Certificate was presented to V-CAPS, took place at the Hoa Lac High Tech Park and was presided over by Dr Nguyen Van Lang, park President and vice-Chair of the Ministry of Science and Technology. In attendance, representing V-CAPS were Alan McKinnon, Chief Financial Officer, and Eelco Bergman, Senior vice President of Sales and Marketing.
V-CAPS anticipates being operational before the end of 2009.
