Tyco Electronics to start construction on first factory in Vietnam

Tyco Electronics, the largest unit of Tyco International Ltd, and the world's leading supplier of passive electronic components, recently officially announced its plan of building a new factory and production lines in Que Vo Industrial Zone in the northern province of Bac Ninh.

The factory will be built on area of 275,000 square metres and expected to be commissioned by the third quarter of 2009.

The new production lines once put into operation will produce electronic linking equipments and other passive electronic spare parts for Tyco Electronics' customers in Vietnam and Asian countries.
