Vietnam gamers named for World Cyber Games

Samsung Vina Electronics Co has selected 15 gamers to represent Vietnam in the World CyberGames (WCG) 2008, taking place this August in Singapore, and the world's WCG in November in Germany.

The gamers are all winners of a national competition which began in May and ended on Sunday in HCM City. Some 3,000 competitors played individually in two games, namely FIFA Soccer and Star-craft, and played in teams in two games. Counter Strike and DOTA All Stars.

Five gamers of the StarBoba team, who won DOTA ALL Stars game, To Trung Hieu who won the FIFA game and three other gamers will represent Vietnam at the Asia WCG next month in Singapore. To Trung Hieu, Le Thanh Ham winner of Star-craft and five other gamers from Vietnam 1st team, who won Counter Strike, will represent Vietnam at the world's WCG in November in Germany.

Samsung is the major sponsor of the global World Cyber Games 2008, which is being held in Vietnam for the 7th consecutive time.
