Vietnam reaches 70.4m subscribers

Up to the end of September, the country reached 70.4 million telephone subscribers with the density of nearly 82 telephones every 100 people. In which, the number of mobile subscribers accounted for 81% or 57 million.
Statistics from Ministry of Planning and Investment showed that in September alone, the country had 3.7 new subscribers, a 362% increase year-on-year, bringing the total new subscriber base since the year early to 23.4 million.
Out of the current 70.4 million subscribers, VNPT takes up 55.4% and Viettel 34% market share.
In June, Ministry of Information and Communication carried out a survey over number of real mobile subscribers. To the end of June, four mobile networks including VinaPhone, MobiFone. Viettel and S-Fone had over total 48 million subscribers, of which over 90% were pre-paid subscribers. Leading among these networks was Viettel with 19.42 million subscribers, followed by MobiFone with over 13.4 million, VinaPhone 12.1 million and S-Fone 3.14 million.
