Vietnam in top ten spots for software outsourcing

Vietnam has joined the ranks in tenth position of the top ten attractive software outsourcing countries in the ranking list of AT Kearney consulting firm (2009 A.T. Kearney Global Services Location Index), reported ICTNews. So Vietnam jumped nine grades from the previous report in 2007.

The index was built based on three main indexes including financial attractiveness, human resources, and business environment. Vietnam was appreciated highly in terms of cheap call service fees but its software quality and availability of human resources lost far compared with neighbouring countries.

Citing the report, factually Vietnam’s software outsourcing is very brisk, especially IT services. Japanese companies for long time have given more priorities to Vietnamese service providers than other markers like Russia.

In the ranking list, there are seven Asian nations among the top ten, led by India and followed by China, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Newcomers are Vietnam, Egypt and Jordan.
