6tr dong joint venture in providing mobile services

The joint venture between EVN Telecom and Hanoi Telecom have announced to spend about 6 trillion dong to develop 3G mobile network in the next three years to serve 50% of the country's population.

According to the cooperation contract signed between two parties, in the coming ten years, EVN Telecom and Hanoi Telecom would commit to cooperate closely with each other to make full use of infrastructure advantages. The two parties guaranteed that the joint venture would provide 3G services to their customers after nine months since the date of receiving the business license.

The two mobile providers have already had 4,200 BTS and the number is expected to increase to 8,000 units in the next three years.

In related news, the seventh mobile service provider in Vietnam called GTel has cooperated with VinaPhone Corp to apply 3G technologies. It's expected that GTel's mobile network - 0199 would be introduced firstly in the market in July under the name of Beeline.
