Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) have decided to cut interprovincial phone call tariffs by 10 to 20 percent for fixed telephone subscribers. A uniform rate is applied across the country, regardless of region, applicable from August 15 for internal calls and calls to other networks.
Especially, charge for internal calls is 11 percent cheaper than calls to other networks. Internal calls include calls from VNPT fixed landlines to other VNPT fixed landlines, to VinaPhone mobile subscribers and to MobiFone mobile subscribers.
In particular, internal call charge is 80 dong for the first block of six seconds, and 13.33 dong for every next second; external call charge is 89.09 dong for the first block of six seconds, and 14.85 dong for every next second.
For VoIP 171 calls, internal call charge is 68 dong for the first block of six seconds, and 11.33 dong for every next second; external call is charged at 75.73 dong for the first block of six seconds, and 12.62 dong for every next minute.
From August 15, clients joining Viettel prepaid network are immediately given 115,000 dong into their accounts, and 50 percent of top-up card value will be added when recharging, applicable for the first 10 top-up cards, and cards must be used before November 30, 2010. Particularly, for clients choosing prepaid network with packages such as Tomato, Economy, Happy Zone, and Ciao, in addition to the 50,000 dong in the original account, clients enjoy bonus of 65,000 dong paid into the promotion account.
This promotion programme lasts until August 27, 2010. Moreover, depending on the value of the selected KIT, the amount of money paid into the promotion account may go up to 249,000 dong. For clients choosing post-paid packages such as Basic+, Family, Corporate, and VIP, they will receive maximum 1.2 million dong in their account.
From August 15, Viettel started offering 50 percent deduction to the previous month's charges (not including monthly subscription fee). This deduction should not exceed 100,000 dong per month.
Previously, MobiFone also announced the promotion programme for clients who start using MobiFone prepaid KIT. According to that, for 65,000 dong KIT, clients will immediately has 115,000 dong paid into their accounts. MobiFone also gives an additional 50 percent value of the next 10 top up cards to users.
A hundred percent value of top-up cards will be added to MobiFone prepaid accounts if subscribers recharging their account with over 50,000 dong, applicable from August 17 to 20. Twenty percent value will be added for cards of 5,000 to 30,000 dong.
