Dubai-based firm ventures in US$360m container port

HCM City-located Tan Thuan Industry Development Co recently set up a joint venture with Dubai-based DP World, to jointly build a container port in Hiep Phuoc industrial zone in Nha Be Dist in the central of HCM City with the total investment capital of US$360 million.

The project covering on an area of 40 hectares with a 950 metre wharf and an estimated capacity of 1.8 million TEU a year is expected to start operation for the first phase including a 500 metre wharf to handle one million TEU a year by May 2009.
