Vietnam Railway Corp and Vietnam-Japan consulting joint venture recently signed a consulting service contract of building up the investment report for the state's HCM City-Hanoi high speed railway project worth over 46.5 billion dong.

As estimated, the report will be finished by this December and submitted to National Assembly in next May.

Consulting joint venture includes Traffic Transport Investment and Construction Consulting JSC (TRICC), Japan Traffic Consulting Co (JTC), Japan Railway Technique Association (JARTS) and Nippon Koei Ltd Co (NK).

The HCM City-Hanoi high speed railway is 1,630 kilometres long with a total estimated cost of US$33 billion, which is for passenger trains with the speed of 300-350 kilometres an hour whereby the Hanoi-HCM City journey will be reduced by 10 hours against the current 30-40 hours.
