Tan Tao Investment and Industry JSC licensed to build two big power plants

Prime minister on August 25 approved in principle Tan Tao Investment and Industry Joint Stock Co to build Kiem Luong Power Plant No 1 with the designed capacity of 1,200 MW and Kien Luong 2 with 1,200-2,000 MW, and Nam Du deepwater port.
The first power plant is expected to come operation by 2013-2014 and the second by 2015-2016.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has responsibility to guide Tan Tao Investment and Industry JSC to build up an investment plan for the plants under the current regulations.
In addition, Kien Giang provincial People's Committee must combine with Ministry of Traffic and Transport to guide Tan Tao Investment and Industry Joint Stock Co to form the detailed project document to ask authorities' approval on the Nam Du deepwater port project.
