Nearly US$15b invested in urban railway projects in two big cities

The Prime Minister recently approved the plan to raise capital for urban railway projects in two big cities namely Hanoi and HCM City until 2020 with the total investment capital of 14.849 trillion dong.

Of which, the investment capital for Hanoi's urban railway projects will be US$7.345 billion including US$5.542 billion from foreign investors in seven lines: Ngoc Hoi-Yen Vien-Tu Liem, Nam Thang Long-Thuong Dinh, Nam Thang Long-Noi Bai, Nhon-Hanoi Rail Station, Hanoi Rail Station-Hoang Mai, Hanoi-Ha Dong and south of West Lake-Ngoc Khanh-Lang-Hoa Lac.

The HCM City's urban railway projects have the total investment capital of US$7.504 billion, of which foreign investors contributed US$6.3 billion in six lines: Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien and five metro routes No 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
