Tan Tao Group be the main investor in two power projects

Prime minister has approved in principle to assign Tan Tao Investment and Industry Joint Stock Co as the main investor of three projects namely Kien Luong 1 power plant with capacity of 1,200 MW (starting its operation in 2013-2014), Kien Luong 2 power plant with capacity of 1,200-2,000 MW (starting its operation in 2015-2016) and Nam Du deep-water port.

In details, Ministry of Industry and Trade would take responsibility for guiding the company to set up investment projects for the two power plants mentioned above; Kien Giang Province People's Committee would cooperate with Ministry of Transportation to guide Tan Tao JSC to work out detailed planning profile and submit to the concerning authorities for approval of adding Nam Du deep-water port in the Vietnamese general plan for individual ports and to set up the specific investment project.

At present, the company is carrying out ground clearance work for the above projects and negotiating the electricity price with Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).
