Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (Vinacomin) expected to kick off construction project of Ke Ga deep-water port in Tan Thanh Commune, South Ham Thuan Dist, Binh Thuan province before June 2010, Duong Van Hoa, Vinacomin's deputy general director stated yesterday January 7.
The construction period for this project was supposed to last for two years. According to the primary calculations, up to now, the investment capital for this project was estimated at about $700 million, in comparison with the initially proposed capital of nearly $550 million.
Ke Ga deep-water port has total coastal length of about 2 kilometres, to be built on a site of about 366 hectares including land and water surface areas.
It's expected that after the first phase of the project, Ke Ga port will have loading capacity of 3 million tonnes of commodities per year.
