Vietnamese Ministry of Transportation (MoT), Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), and Vietnam National Shipping Lines Corp (Vinalines) on March 9 organised a seminar on seaport infrastructure investment and cooperation opportunities in Vietnam.
Accordingly, MLIT will cooperate with the MoT to call Japanese enterprises to invest in this sector.
Reportedly, Japan-based Itochu Group officially proposed the MoT to cooperate with Vinalines in investing in Lach Huyen international border seaport in the northern city of Hai Phong.
Under it, Japanese investor will join hand with Vinalines to build two containers wharfs with total investment of US$165 million.
