Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam – coded PVN) has submitted a proposal to the government for carrying out O Mon 3 and O Mon 4 thermo power plant projects under O Mon Power Centre in Can Tho City.

The power centre includes four power plants, in which O Mon 1 power plant has designed capacity of 600MW with Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group as the main investor. The 750MW O Mon 2 power plant project was in process of selecting the investors.
As planned, those power plants in O Mon Power Centre will use gas source from Plot B and 52.

At present, the Plot B – O Mon gas pipeline project that PetroVietnam has conducted with holdings ratio of 51 percent, together with other partners of Chevron (the US), Moeco (Japan) and PTTEP (Thailand) is expected to officially operate in 2013. Therefore, it is important to carry out all the power plant projects in O Mon Power Centre in time.
