Construction project of Ben Thuy 2 bridge costs about 1.26tr dong

Ministry of Transport officially started construction works on Ben Thuy 2 Bridge project on National Highway No 1A connecting two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh on March 14, 2010.

Ben Thuy 2 bridge is located in Vinh City, Nghe An province and Nghi Xuan Dist, Ha Tinh province, about 800 metres far from the current Ben Thuy Bridge with the starting point at Km24+120 of Vinh City bypass road and the ending point of Km18+500 National Road No 8B.

The project's total length of the road would be 3km, in which the main bridge of 996 metres, to be built in self-tensioning reinforced concrete with total width of 25 metres, divided in four lanes.

The total investment capital for the project would be about 1.26 trillion don from government-guaranteed bonds. The construction works are expected to be finished in October 2012.
