The V&H Corporation of Vietnam will build the Lower Sekong Hydro-Power Plant with a designed capacity of 80MW in Laos.
A memorandum of understanding on this project was signed in Vientiane on August 26.
Signatories were Nguyen Van Minh, deputy general director of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company, representing V&H Corporation, and Thongmi Phomvisay, Lao deputy minister of Planning and Investment.
Currently, V&H Corporation is completing exploration and survey activities to report to the Laos government and carry out the project.
Together with Nam Cong Hydro Power Plants 2 and 3, the Lower Sekong Hydro-Power Plant is expected to contribute to electricity generation, as well as job placement, poverty reduction and budget contribution to Laos.
