Law on independent auditing to be promulgated in 2010

Aug 7, 2008 - 7:00:00 AM Bui Van Mai, director of the Ministry of Finance's Department of Accounting and Auditing revealed that the ministry in May set up a group in charge of drafting the law on independent auditing.

Before establishing the draft board, the ministry summarised 17 years of auditing operation from 1991 to 2008, highlighted supplementary issues, translated 18 foreign laws on auditing into Vietnamese for reference, collected Vietnamese regulations relating to independent auditing such as Law on Banking, Law on Business, and built up preliminary outline for the first draft of Independent Auditing Law.

The law is expected to be passed by May 2010 by National Assembly.
