Proliferation of commercial bank branches slowed

May 16, 2008 - 7:00:00 AM Under Decision No 13/2008/QD-NHNN issued by the State Bank of Vietnam on April 29, a commercial bank is allowed to open a main office and up to two branches within a year of opening if it meets certain conditions on financial security. A bank is allowed to open an offshore office or branch after at least five years in operation, including three consecutive profitable years.
