Import tariff on automobile components hiked

The Ministry of Finance recently decided to hike by 5-10% in import tariff on automobile spare parts, which will be applied on customer declaration from May 20.

Under the new tariff benchmark, spare parts such as the glass will be imposed an import tariff of 33-38%. Transmission equipments for broadcast and television, digital camera will be applied the tariff of 15-37%. Import tariff on equipments like interrupter, relay, switch, lamp socket, and male plug is common at 10-29% depending on each type of car and cylinder capacity.

The ministry said that the tariff adjustment aims to limit trade gap and traffic jams.
