Saigontourist receives Thailand's tourism award

The Saigontourist Travel Service Co was presented with "The Friend of Thai Awards 2008" by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in Bangkok on September 26.
The award, which was initiated in 1996, is given to international tour operators and airlines.
Saigontourist was chosen by TAT for this year's award on account of a 37% increase in the number of Vietnamese tourists and overseas Vietnamese visiting Thailand on its tours in 2007 against the previous year.
The company operates tours to Thailand each day with 25 tourists a tour on average. In the first eight months of this year, Saigontourist organised trips for more than 250 tourist groups to Thailand, a year-on-year increase of 20%.
Saigontourist is the first travel agency in Vietnam which organises weekly tours to Thailand on the five-star Superstar Aquarius Ship.
