The Philippines asked banks to submit offers to help it sell as much as $1 billion of bonds, a government official said.
The nation may issue the global bonds as early as this month, according to a government official who can't be named because the matter is still confidential. Banks have until tomorrow to submit their proposals and the government may select underwriters after a week, the official said.
