South Korea on Thursday said it would launch a Won5,000bn fund together with state-run banks and pension funds to revive corporate investment.

The plan comes a day after Lee Myung-bak, president, called for more aggressive corporate spending to boost economic growth. Business investment fell 23.5 percent in the first quarter, the biggest drop since the 1997-98 Asian financial crisis.
