OceanaGold CEO explains upside from Didipio

May 17, 2008 - 7:00:00 AM OceanaGold Corp held an open briefing on the upside from Didipio gold-copper project in the Philippines with CEO Steve Orr. Orr stated that the Co is now in the midst of construction at Didipio and are well into the bulk earthworks.

The ore storage pad is just about completed and earthworks at the plant site are now the main focus to prepare for process and power plant foundations. Leighton has begun to mobilise equipment and are expected to start the pre-strip of the open-pit later this month. Orr also commented on the revised scope of the project, Didipio's importance for growth, the ramp-up at the New Zealandmines, and exploration update across the New Zealandmines and in the Philippines.
