Woodside expressed interest in PNG LNG project

Woodside Petroleum, Australia's largest publicly-listed oil and gas exploration and production company, has expressed interest in Papua New Guinea's liquefied natural gas project.
The National newspaper reports Woodside chief executive Don Voelte told an investment briefing last week the company was interested in investing in the Exxon Mobil-led project.

The proposed LNG development is expected to be ready within five years.

Voelte says the project is a nice field, and if he could figure a way to get into it at low cost, he would.
