During a joint meeting in St. Petersburg, PetroVietnam vice-President Hguyen Tien Zung and deputy Gazprom Chair Aleksandr Ananenkov discussed the possibility of PetroVietnam participating in the Eastern Gas Programme.
Meeting participants noted that PetroVietnam had conducting geological surveys on the Vietnam shelf well and noted there were good chances for the two companies to cooperate on projects in Russia and third countries.
Specifically, the possibility of Vietnam taking part in the Eastern Gas Programme was seen as a key possibility.
