The prime minister on October 6 approved a plan to build a solid waste treatment area in three key economic regions of North, South and Centre of the country until 2020.

As per the plan from now to 2020, Vietnam would build seven inter-provincial solid waste treatment areas with the total investment of 9.683 trillion dong or US$598 million.

The project will apply licensed domestic technology to reproduce and reuse solid waste aimed to prevent environmental pollution.
