Trading volume decreases, VN Index slips to below 550 points

The trading session today September 5 closed a week with a tumble on the stock market. With the strong increasing supply from previous session, opening the session today, the VN Index lost 7.21 points or 1.29% to 551.35 pts. In the following phase, the VN Index slipped 10.15 pts or 1.81% to 548.41 pts. Finally, the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC)'s index closed at 546.66 pts, losing 11.9 pts or 2.13% with the total matching order trades of over 20.7 million shares and fund certificates worth 813.108 billion dong.

Among 156 share codes and four fund certificates being listed on the southern bourse, the stock market saw 79 shares increasing with 65 reaching the ceiling price, 76 falling including 41 slipping to the floor price and five share stood still at the reference price.

The VN Index showed strong loss in this session due to the decrease of market largest capitalisation shares such as FPT lost 6,000 dong to 127,000 dong, PVD slipped 5,000 to 108,000, DPM dropped 3,000 to 62,000, HPG tumbled 3,000 to 63,000, STB plunged 1,600 to 31,300 dong and VNM down 4,000 dong to 112,000 dong per share together with others including DQC, GMD, HAP, KDC, SAM, SJS and VSH.

Meanwhile, SSI still kept its increasing impetus with 3,500 dong to 77,000 dong per share, REE up 2,500 to 53,500 and ITA jumped 500 to 72,000 dong per share.

STB still led the market in trading volume with over 2.94 million shares, SAM with over one million shares, HPG with 970,000, VID 740,000 along with DPM, MCV, FPT, TCM, PET and KHP.

In the same situation, the Hanoi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) today September 5 also tumbled on the stock market as the HaSTC Index dropped 5.73 points or 2.94% to end at 189.14 pts with the total market trades of 16,758,700 shares and fund certificates valued at nearly 792 billion dong.

Amongst 149 listed share codes and fund certificates on the northern bourse, the stock market witnessed 62 shares decreasing, four others stood still namely CTN, SDC, SRB and VCG, two with no trade namely HSC and YSC and 81 increasing.

VSP continued being the biggest loser when losing 9,500 dong per share, DTC slipped 8,700, KKC—7,700, KBC—7,000, ACB—6,300, SCJ—6,100 and RCL and S99 dropped 6,000 dong per share.

Meanwhile, BVS performed the strongest increase when adding 5,300 dong, GHA and HPC jumped 3,200, QNC, SD2 and STB +2,800, S55 +2,500, VC3 +2,300, S96 +2,200 and KLS and L62 up 2,100 dong per share.

VCG reached the biggest trading volume with 2,352,200 shares, ACB followed with 2,027,500, SD7 714,500, TLC 637,200 and BVS with 532,100 shares being traded.
