Sep 6, 2008 - 7:00:00 AM
Saigon Securities Inc (coded SSI) reported its foreign shareholder Daiwa Securities Corp Inc purchased already 8,673,390 out of registered 11,684,880 SSI coded shares from June 25 to August 29, 2008.

Daiwa Securities Corp Inc now holds 14,988,510 SSI shares or 10.97% stake of the top broker.

Therefore, the foreigner could not finish the registered purchase assignment because the maximum foreign holding in SSI is limited and strong changes in SSI share price.

In July alone, SSI gained 70.478 billion dong in securities business and 91.582 billion dong in after-tax profit. Thus, in the first seven months of 2008, the brokerage posted a total revenue of 608.207 billion dong and a loss of 27.263 billion dong.

On September 4, SSI share price closed at 73,500 dong per share, up 3,500 dong against Thursday with 85,270 shares changed hands.
