* Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC) recently announced that November 28 would be the registration deadline for Idico Urban and Housing Development Joint Stock Co (coded UIC) to close the list of shareholder to pay 10% dividend in cash for the first phase of 2008 (shareholder holding one share will receive 1,000 dong).

* Hanoi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) recently announced that 10 million G-bonds worth one trillion dong issued by the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) would be officially traded on the northern bourse from November 21 with the code of QHB0813061.

* Hanoi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) recently announced that on November 21 it would hold a tender for 500 billion dong of G-bonds issued by the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) for the second tranche of November, 2008.

* Hanoi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) on November 18 officially approved the Song Da Joint Stock Co No 8 (coded SD8) to list 2.8 million ordinary shares at 10,000 dong par with the total value of 28 billion dong on the northern bourse.

* Hanoi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) recently issued Decision No 407/QD-TTGDHN approving the membership status of Standard Securities Joint Stock Co (SSJ), marking the 88th securities broker on the northern bourse.

* STC-listed Sa Giang Export and Import Joint Stock Co (coded SGC) recently announced the resolution of the company's shareholders' meeting. Accordingly, the company would pay 8% dividend in cash for the second phase of 2008 with the total value of over 4.765 billion dong (shareholder holding one share will receive 800 dong).

* Saigon Maritime Joint Stock Co (coded SHC) reported that its foreign shareholder, Kamm Investment Inc, registered to sell its whole of 60,000 SHC-coded shares, equalling to 2% stake into SHC from November 19 to February 19, 2009.

* December 2 would be the registration deadline for Southern Seed Joint Stock Co (coded SSC) to pay 6% dividend in cash for the second phase of 2008, according to Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC) (shareholder holding one share will receive 600 dong). The ex-interest date is on November 28. The payment date is on December, 22.

* Da Nang city's Nhan Luat Joint Stock Co yesterday held the 15-year establishment anniversary and announced that it would invest in eight hydropower projects in Dong Nai and Quang Nam provinces. Total designed capacity of the eight projects is 166.5 MW with total electricity output of 742.6 million kWh a year and total investment capital of 4.115 trillion dong. Out of which, construction on six projects will start in 2009 and the remaining two plants in 2010.

* STC-listed Vipco Petroleum Transportation Joint Stock Co (coded VIP) on November 15 officially started construction on a 25-storey building VIPCO TOWER at No 37 Phan Boi Chau, Hong Bang Dist in the northern city of Hai Phong.

* The project to build Dolphin Plaza high class apartment and office complex at No 28 Tran Binh St, Tu Liem Dist, Hanoi was officially started construction on November 18. The project with a total investment of 600 billion dong was co-invested by TID Joint Stock Co with 51% of investment capital in collaboration with PetroVietnam Finance Corp (PVFC) and PetroVietnam Finance Land Joint Stock Co (PVFC Land) with a total contribution of 49% and designed by Singapore-based DP Architects Pte Ltd Co.

* Harvey Nash Vietnam Co Ltd has signed an outsourcing contract worth 54 million euros with Germany's Alcatel-Lucent to build a wireless network centre in HCM City. The centre will offer about 200 jobs in the IT sector and be linked directly with Alcatel-Lucent's strategic software research and development centre in Germany.

* Tan Mai Paper Corp., a merger of Tan Mai Paper Joint Stock Go and Dong Nai Paper Co, has been established in Thong Nhat Ward, Bien Hoa City with capital of 576 billion dong.

* Pha Rung Shipbuilding Co Ltd has launched the 6,500-dwt HULL FM-05 oil and chemical tanker ship designed by Asia Ship Design & Consultants Co Ltd This is the fourth of five tanker ships to be handed over to the Korean partner.

* Vietnam Petroleum Transport Joint Stock Co (VlPCO) has broken ground for the 25-story VlPCO Tower worth 202 billion dong on an area of 16,540 square metres in Hong Bang District. The building will be operational by 2012.

* NEAD Technology Application and Development Co under Vietnam Nuclear Energy Institute of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, has produced activated charcoal from waste bamboo coal. About 76 grams of activated charcoal is extracted from each kilogram of waste bamboo material using a chemical filter.

* Vietnam Eximbank's director board decided to pay a 12% dividend for 2008 (1,200 dong per share). With the current chartered capital of nearly 4.249 trillion dong, total money amount Eximbank will use to pay dividend is about 51 billion dong.

* Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) recently was granted "The most active import support bank in Asia 2008" prize by International Finance Corp (IFC). This is the first prize being granted to an Asian bank belonging to IFC's banking system in field of import support.
