* Dong Phu Rubber Joint Stock Co (coded DPR) has recently announced to close the shareholders book to pay 15 percent cash dividend for the first phase of 2009 (1,500 dong for one share) and organise annual shareholders' meeting.

* The period from March 15 to April 10 will be the time for shareholders to register and deposit to buy 25,557,714 shares priced at 10,000 dong per share of Central Hydropower Joint Stock Co for the first phase.

* Vietnam House Joint Stock Co (House Vietnam) recently announced that the company will close the shareholders book on March 15 to pay 2009 dividend.

* Sam Cuong Material Electric & Telecom Corp (Sametel) has recently announced audited fiscal report in 2009 with 45.81 billion dong of revenue from sales and service provision, up 34.18 percent year-on-year and 4.2 billion dong of after tax profit increasing 70.73 percent against previous year's figure with EPS of 1,681 dong per share.

* HCM City Securities Joint Stock Co (HSC) expects that additional 120 firms will list shares for the first time on Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC). Among those candidates preparing for listing shares on stock markets, there are more share-codes to be posted on southern floor. This good signal showed that more and more enterprises with large capital planned to list shares to public.

* Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) has in principle approved for VNDirect Securities Joint Stock Co to list shares on the northern bourse. In details, the company would officially list 45 million shares worth 450 billion dong on the market.

* Tien Len Steel Corporation Co (TLH) will begin trading 54 million shares on the southern bourse on March 16 at the reference price of 30,000 dong each. The company has also acquired 302,000 shares of Phuc Tien Trade Manufacture Co (PHT) to increase its ownership from 14.9% to 17.7%.

* Hoa Binh Construction & Real Estate Corporation (HBC) has bought back 500,000 shares as treasury stock. Saigon Cable Corporation (CSG) has also bought back one million shares as treasury stock.

* Vietnam Investment Fund has bought 5l0,000 shares of Vietnam Sun Corporation (VNS) to increase its ownership from 7.7% to l0%.

* Phuc Tien Trading and Manufacturing Co (PHT) has announced March 22 as ex-dividend date for existing shareholders to receive dividend in shares at the 10:1 ratio. The company will also issue 2.75 million shares to shareholders at 4:1 ratio at 20,000 dong each.

* Thac Mo Hydropower Co (TMP) has announced March 18 as the ex-dividend date for existing shareholders to receive 2009 second-round dividend of 7% in cash.

* Vien Dong Pharmaceutical Co (DVD) has announced an acquisition of over 260,000 shares of Savi Pharmaceutical Company to obtain a 20.78% stake in the company. The acquisition value was 36.6 billion dong.

* Southern bourse-listed Mirae Joint Stock Co (coded KMR) announced about gained revenue from trading padding products in the past few years and forecast for 2010.

* Lu Gia Mechanical Electric Joint Stock Co (STC-coded LGC) announced its 2010 business plan with targeted revenue and profit after tax of 215 billion dong and over 39.72 billion dong respectively, increasing by 42 percent and 32.5 percent against the previous year.

* Mekong Seafood Joint Stock Co (coded AAM) has recently announced to organise 2010 annual shareholders' meeting on March 24.

* Vietnam Airlines (VNA) has recently sent a petition to prime minister opposing the investment cooperation (under any ways) between cheap air carrier-Air Asia (Malaysia) and VietJet Air Aviation Joint Stock Co (VJA) to establish VietJet AirAsia-a cheap aviation carrier.

* Nghe An province's authority has called for investment in 22 marine, ecological tourism projects with total capital of about $250 million from now up to 2015.

* Phu Nhuan Jewellery Joint Stock Co (coded PNJ) has lately reported to gain revenue of 1.6 trillion dong in the first two months of this year, fulfilling 20 percent of the year plan, and pre-tax profit of 54 billion dong or 22 percent of year plan.

* Ministry of transport and Kon Tum province people's committee held the groundbreaking ceremony for project of upgrading and expanding National Highway No 24 that connects two provinces of Quang Ngai and Kon Tum, from km8 – km165 in Kon Plong Town, Kon Plong Dist, Kon Tum province on March 12.

* Cu Chi Investment Development Industrial & Trading Joint Stock Co (Cidico) has recently released audited fiscal report in 2009 with 164.52 billion dong of revenue from sales and service provision, or 97.14 percent against 2008's figure and 23.44 billion dong of after tax profit or 81.7 percent compared to 2008's figure with EPS of 3,469 dong per share.

* Japanese investor, Kobeseiko has proposed Vietnam's functional authorities its new project of constructing a new steel billet mill in Hoang Mai Industrial Zone, under Southeast Nghe An Industrial Complex. The project's total investment capital was estimated at about $1 billion.

* VinaCapital Group has recently received the 2009 Best Fund House Award to be granted by Asia Asset Management Magazine in Hong Kong on March 11, 2010. This is the annual, prestigious award to be selected for the best firms in finance and investment sectors in the Asian region.

* Ministry of Transport officially started construction works on Ben Thuy 2 Bridge project on National Highway No 1A connecting two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh on March 14, 2010.

* Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam – coded PVN) has submitted a proposal to the government for carrying out O Mon 3 and O Mon 4 thermo power plant projects under O Mon Power Centre in Can Tho City.

* Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Co (coded DQC) has finished exporting the last batch of lamps in its first contract of exporting 10 million products to Venezuela. This is the first batch of energy compact bulbs to be highly appreciated by Venezuela's partners.

* Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC)-listed Na Ri Hamico Mineral Joint Stock Co (coded KSS) has recently reported satisfactory business results in Q1 with 25 billion dong of pre tax profit.

* Vietnam Airlines will sell fares from $49 to $599 for a ten-day period starting Monday for its international flights from Hanoi and HCM City to China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Australia and Europe. These promotional fares apply to travel between April 1 and June 10 except for high-demand routes on Vietnamese public holidays.

* Italy's Danieli Group signed a deal March 11 to acquire a 20% stake of Vietnam Steel Corporation to invest in a $550-million hot-rolled steel mill in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. The plant has a designed capacity of two million tonnes per year.

* VTC Multimedia Telecommunication Corp sealed a cooperation deal with Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to create favorable conditions to support each other and use their services and products, especially telecommunication services, content and other value-added services. VTC will provide its content services and other value-added services for EVN's mobile network and telecommunication services on the basis of CDMA and 3G networks.

* Petrovietnam Underground Depot Ltd Co has won an investment license to build an underground petrol depot in Dung Quat Economic Zone in Quang Ngai Province. The $340 million project is expected to have a capacity of 1.6 million cubic metres.

* Switzerland's ABB Group has launched a power equipment manufacturing plant in Bac Ninh Province's Tien Son Industrial Zone. The $30 million plant is part of ABB's plan to increase production capacity in Vietnam.

* Hoa Phat Group (HPG) targets 12.34 trillion dong in revenue and 1.35 trillion dong in after-tax profits this year. The company will ask for shareholders' opinions on 2009 dividend of 60%, comprising 10% in cash and 50% in shares.

* Maritime Bank on March 12, 2010 signed a strategic cooperation contract with IBM Vietnam in the field of information technology (IT).

* From March 15 to April 29, Sai Gon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SCB) will launch a "Ruoc loc qua tang tu SCB" promotion programme applying for individual depositors in both dong and US dollar with 1-60 month terms

* The State Bank of Vietnam has given clearance to Vietnam Technical Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) to open two new branches in provinces of Lam Dong and Tay Ninh.

* Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank of Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) and Indovina Bank (IVB) signed a cooperation agreement to launch Western Union money transfer services in Hanoi last weekend.

* Prime minister has released Official Letter No 416/TTg-KTTH allowing investors of production forestry plantation to borrow loans of Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) under current laws on the state's investment credit for carrying out governmental projects.

* Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Bank obtained 300 billion dong in pre-tax profits in the first two months of this year, up by 35% year on year.

* Global Petro Commercial Bank has been permitted to establish debt management and asset exploitation company in Hanoi with initial chartered capital of 50 billion dong.

* Western Commercial Bank has registered to list on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange again after fixing its share ownership issues.
