Ninh Thuan revokes investment licence for wind power plant project

Ninh Thuan province people’s committee has lately issued the decision to halt the operation of the investment project of Cong Hai Wind Power Plant and revoke the investment licence that had been issued in May 2007 for Canada-based Greta Energy Inc.

The wind power plant has designed capacity of 66MW to be built in an area of 310 hectares, with total investment capital of 1.19 trillion dong. As planned, the construction was to last for two years. However, up to now, Greta hasn’t even kicked off the project.

In early March, the foreign investor submitted document to the local functional authority for cancelling the implementation works on the project due to global economic recession.
