Ninth Taiwanese bank licensed

Vice governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Tran Minh Tuan has granted a license to Taiwanese Taishin International Bank to open a representative office in Vietnam.
Taishin International Bank, headquartered at 44 Zhongshan N.Rd., Sec.2, Taipei, Taiwan, is expected to open its first representative office in HCM City. This office is tasked to contact and research the market, promote the building of TIB’s project in Vietnam; boost and supervise the implementation of contracts, or agreements signed between this bank and banks and businesses of Vietnam; carry out projects funded by Taishin International Bank in Vietnam, the bank said.
Taiwan has the most banks operating in Vietnam out of all countries. Taishin becomes the ninth Taiwanese-owned bank in Vietnam after Chinfon Bank, First Commercial Bank, ICBC, Bank Sinopac, Chinatrust Commercial Bank, Hua Nan Commercial Bank Ltd, Cathay United Bank Co., Ltd, and Union Bank of Taiwan.
Taishin is also one of the biggest banks in Taiwan.
