No new business start ups in three provinces
A source from the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) sid not a single new company start up was licensed in the three provinces of Lai Chau, An Giang, and Hau Giang by the third quarter.
According to CIEM, this was surprising news, particularly the southern province of An Giang which has a large seafood processing industry and has recorded robust economic growth this year.
The southern province of Hau Giang was split from Can Tho province recently and the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau is basically underdeveloped.
The three provinces of Nghe An, Ca Mau, and Kien Giang although not considered key economic development areas, registered many new company start ups. What is noteworthy is that Nghe An ranked fifth in number of newly-established companies with 510 registered and capital of nearly two billion dong each in the three quarters this year.
Such provinces and cities ranking top in numbers of newly-established businesses include HCM City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Dong Nai, Binh Duong.
