Number of securities transaction accounts hit 100,000
The State Securities Commission reported that the number of transaction accounts of stock investors reached 100,000 up to the end of 2006, higher three times over that of 2005.
Of which, foreign investors including Singapore division of JP Morgan, and Merryll Lynch and Citigroup have opened 1,700 accounts and taken up about 30% of listed share volume.
Also, there had been 23 securities investment funds in Vietnam by the end of last year with total cap of US$2.3 billion.
