Over 200 hospitalised with diarrhoea

Vo Van Ke section head of My An communal health station, Mang Thit district of Vinh Long province said on October 9 that in past days, many people suffered stomach-aches and diarrhoea and needed medical attention.

From October 3 to 9, over 200 mostly adults had contracted severe diarrhoea . There were 20-30 people tested and treated everyday. Serious cases were transferred to provincial general Hospital.

The disease spread out neighbouring communes and Phu Da area in Cho Lach district of Ben Tre province, Ke added.

Vinh Long standby health centre provided enzyme and antibiotic medicines to serve treatment. Authorities have not defined the cause of disease.
