Over half of shares hit floor prices, turnover accelerates
The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC) today February 18 continued falling on the stock market when the VN Index slipped another 33.46 points or 4.1% to close at 782.57 pts with the total marching order trade of 12,607,240 shares worth 931.754 billion dong, a 117% increase in trading volume in comparison with the previous session.
The southern bourse in the trading session on February 18 welcomed the 150th member coded TTF of Truong Thanh Furniture Joint Stock Co with the total volume of shares offered of 15 million shares at the reference price of 80,000 dong per share. Ending the first session, TTF-coded shares were traded at 70,000 dong per share with 170,090 shares traded.
Among 150 shares being listed on the southern floor, the stock market witnessed only five shares increasing, one share stood at the comparative price and 144 shares decreasing including nearly 80 shares hitting the floor price.
Blue-chip shares decreasing included top ten shares with the largest market capitalisation, of which five shares hit the floor price.
Shares hit the floor price such as DPM slipped 3,000 dong to 62,000 dong per share, PVD slumped 7,000 to 134,000, SJS dropped 11,000 to 224,000, SSI tumbled 6,000 to 124,000, VNM plunged 6,000 to 131,000, FPT slashed 8,000, HPG lost 4,000, ITA down 5,000, STB reduced 2,500 and VIC lost 3,000 dong per share.
BMC showed the strongest decline with losing 14,000 dong and followed by TTC lost 13,000 and SJS slipped 11,000 dong per share.
Shares increasing included SAF added 2,500 dong, TMS up 1,300, VGP lifted 1,900 and SGC increased 1,000 dong per share.
STB took the first place in trading volume with 2,576,520 shares and followed by DPM with over 1.3 million shares, SSI with 727,710 shares and others share codes like REE, VFMVF1 and PPC.
On the northern bourse, the Hanoi Securities Transaction Centre (HaSTC) continued falling on the stock market as the HaSTC Index slipped another 12.38 points or 4.39% to end at 269.7 pts with the total market trade of 4,467,300 shares worth over 332 billion dong.
Amongst 127 listed shares on the northern bourse, the stock market saw only five shares increasing while 118 shares decreasing and four shares with no trades.
DAC was the biggest gainer when adding 1,000 dong to 30,500 dong per share and followed by HCC added 800 to 38,200 dong, KBC up 400 dong to 27,100, SD2 lifted 300 to 132,300 dong and VC6 bounded 100 dong to 49,100 dong per share.
Four shares with no transactions were CJC, HSC, NPS and VTL.
Meanwhile, RCL showed the strongest decline when losing 12,700 dong or 5.45% to 220,300 dong per shares, followed by SCJ lost 11,400 dong to 34,200, S99 slipped 10,900 dong to 16,400 dong and MIC dropped 9,100 dong to 136,700 dong per share.
Shares with large trading volume included KLS with 504,200 shares, PVS with 422,400 shares, ACB with 350,400, HPC with 211,600 shares and PVI with 183,000 shares traded.
