Perfumed rice exports net good prices

Northern rice companies have flocked to purchase perfumed rice for export and the ST1 and ST3 rice export price has reached US$270-275 a tonne FOB, while 5% broken is selling at US$198 a tonne FOB.

The Mekong Delta’s rice price is on a continual rise of 100-200 dong a kilo. While perfumed rice sells at 2,400-2,500 dong a kilo. Rice export companies say that rice available for export may not be sufficient because severe droughts haves decimated many rice growing areas.
